The host OS is Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.Īll the VMs have a virtual network adapter added and set to NAT. The version I am using is Workstation Player 15.5.6 build-16341506 which has several Linux VMs, the main one being OpenSUSE 15.2 and the others being Fedora 32 and Ubuntu 20.04.
I’ve been trying to get my VMs to connect to the internet but there only seems to be communication between the VM, virtual NAT adapter(VMnet8) and the hosts physical adapter. This is a similar thread with exact same issue: Re: Multiple monitors not working with vmware workstation player 16 Have attached mksSandbox*.log and vmware*.log as a zip. Maybe this might have something to do with the issue. One more observation: I tried to look into the mksSandbox logs, and I found that it refers to the other two displays as "DISPLAY 4" and "DISPLAY 5" instead of dispay 2, 3. Strangely enough multi monitor works when I disable any one of the three displays, and try to use a dual monitor setup.
Before the upgrade I was able to use the triple monior setup inside the VM by selecting a layout from "Cycle Multiple Displays", but now selecting a layout from the list does not do anything.
I have a triple monitor setup (two external 1080p monitors connected to laptop with 1080p display). I just upgraded to VMWare Workstation Player 16 (from 15).
So the question is, how to force set the input device in the Player, please? When I set default audio OUTPUT device on my host for the headset, it will be then used for the input se well in the virtual. Even when Logitech Headset is set as default Input device (again player settings), somehow, Player doesn't allow any Input device settings and uses mostly my webcam, which I only want to be used for video, not for audio Input. With this approach everything works perfectly for the Output sounds. So I am using it having Logitech headset Disconnected on virtual (among removable devices), and having only SoundCard Connected in the Settings. It doesn't matter all other removable devices are disconnected. Perhaps there is some solution for removing the distortion? (this was the case even years ago for me). when I use logitech headset as Connected (Disconnected from the host), it gives me lots of distortion (mostly). play all the sounds coming from virtual machine through logitech headset play all the sounds coming from host machine through its sound card Logitech wireless headset connected through USB I have Win 10 as host machine running Player and another Win 10 machine as virtual. My apologies if I left out any information. Neither did simply selecting the tools ISO under Use ISO Image. I have even gone so far as to manually downloading the VMware Tools ISO and mounting it in Windows, but VMware did not recognize it under CD/DVD and it did not solve the issue. I installed Windows through an ISO, but have set CD/DVD to auto-detect as was suggested. I get this every time I try, including through a VMware reboot and a full host system reboot. Contact VMware Support or your system administrator.
Instead, I get the error:Ĭould not find component on update server.
However, when I try to install VMTools from, it does not install. Which one of my programs needs in order to run. The issue I'm having is that because of VMTools (and possibly some other parts?) not being installed/updated, I can not enable 3d Acceleration. I spent 5-ish hours following links and google searches for this, nothing that I could find fixed the issue. To start off, YES, I have attempted every possible fix for this I could find.
